Most of the time, I don't enjoy fog because it's terrible to drive in. But, when I came home from the studio today...the sight of my backyard was too amazing not to explore in.

Designing: Photo Cards
Why is it that sometimes we are most creatively productive late into the night or early into the wee hours of morning? There's must be some magical power it holds over us. ;)
Tonight, I surprised myself.
It's 3:18am and I just designed three photo cards. A feat which I'd never have tried over a year ago or even a month ago. For awhile, I had given up on designing anything. After many failed attempts at a previous job to design anything, well, good in my opinion, I had drained myself of any confidence I had in this area. I believed my talents lied elsewhere. I guess it's a good lesson that sometimes I need to take a break from designing and revisit it later.
Now, these cards are nothing special. I'm sure many others have made ones like these in a different variation or a slightly better versions even. But, I have to remind myself it's okay to step away from comparing myself to those around me and give myself a pat on the back. It's also good for me to welcome constructive criticism. If not for that type of critique, how would we as creatives improve our work?
Here's to all the creatives out there. Embrace your gift and where you are technically. Let your inner artist express itself in your upcoming projects. Don't hide your style!
